Exciting NEXT steps for college students

Tuesday 17th January 2017

Students from South Leicestershire College will be given the opportunity to pursue high flying careers thanks to a partnership with leading retailer NEXT.

The College has teamed up with NEXT, whose head office is located in Enderby to create an IT Academy, available to all those who complete the Level 3 IT course at the College.

This two year programme is designed to offer young talented IT enthusiasts the opportunity to gain a variety of on the job IT work experience whilst being sponsored to study towards the HNC IT programme at the college

It’s a fantastic opportunity for young Leicestershire IT talent to join the biggest local employer and one of the UK’s most successful retailers.

Sally Denning, Learning and Skills Manager for Creative Arts and Digital Media at the College said: “Here at the college we are passionate about providing students with relevant and exciting career destinations when they finish their course. The IT Academy will not only provide these young people with the chance to get their foot in the door with one of the UK’s largest retailers but also to continue their education, developing their knowledge, skills and career prospects.”

Students currently studying the Level 3 at the College will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the NEXT headquarters as well as taking part in sessions around application and interview skills supported by NEXT’s HR department.
