North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College have free construction courses starting from this month.
The courses can be held in the workplace or at the College’s Construction facilities in Hinckley and South Wigston.
The training is free for small businesses in the Hinckley and Leicester/Leicestershire area, as part of a scheme funded by the European Social Fund.
Tim Forster, Learning and Skills Manager - Transport & Built Environment at the College said: “These courses are ideal for small, local businesses who want to ensure their staff members meet National Occupational Standards for the industry. They are also a great way for staff to access the relevant card schemes.
“Courses are available in:
“At the end of the course, staff will be qualified to Level 2, equivalent to 4-5 GCSE grades A*-C.
“We also offer one day IT courses – ideal for all businesses wanting to fill skills gaps and improve efficiencies.”
In order to be eligible, businesses must have 250 or fewer employees located in the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership area. Employees must be aged 19 or over, work for 16 hours per week and meet UK residency criteria.
