South Leicestershire College has a wide range of business Apprenticeships now available.
Katy Urwin, Director for Learning and Skills – Business and Professions at the College said: “Apprenticeships are ideal for employers of all sizes who want to either upskill current staff members or recruit new employees into their organisation.
“Our current offer covers four main business areas:
Administrators need a broad range of skills to work efficiently and to help increase business productivity. Skills shortages identified by organisations include a lack of office and administration skills, customer-handling skills, technical and practical skills, oral communication skills and IT skills, all of which are covered within the Business Administration Apprenticeship frameworks. These Intermediate (Level 2) and Advanced (Level 3) programme focuses on the principles of business communication, information and administration alongside optional units which relate directly to your organisation, department and the Apprentice’s job role.
IT Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals and IT Application Specialists
With technology developing at a faster rate than ever before, IT skills are an integral part of the business world. Available as Intermediate (Level 2) Advanced (Level 3) and Higher (Level 4) level programmes these Apprenticeships have the perfect balance of content in technical, business and interpersonal areas.
This framework provides the apprentice with the competence, skills and knowledge to work effectively and efficiently with IT systems, communication and productivity tools and software applications. This includes the creation and amendment of many types of formatted information including documents, diagrams, spreadsheets and presentations. It also includes maintaining simple websites, using the internet to find and exchange information and using social media to disseminate information.
Team Leading and Leadership and Management
Ideal for those aspiring to enter into a team leading role, or those in middle management, these Intermediate (Level 2) and Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeships allow learners to develop their communication and development skills, including employee rights and responsibilities and customer service.
Over half a million people work in marketing occupations in England, with the industry playing an essential role in ensuring the success of public, private and not-for-profit organisations across all sectors of the economy. The marketing industry includes the marketing of traditional goods and services, conferences and events, market research and social marketing. The marketing industry is extremely competitive and is driven by the need to develop both innovative and cost-effective methods of working whilst keeping pace with rapidly changing consumer preferences. The Marketing Apprenticeship has been designed to address these challenges. It will attract new talent into the marketing industry and help to up skill the workforce to meet employer skills priorities.
Digital marketing is no longer a choice for business. It’s a necessary and key element of business and marketing strategy. This Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship focuses on how social and digital marketing can be used to positively impact on a business’s performance including keywords and optimisation and social networking management using collaborative technologies.
