Students at South Leicestershire College had the chance to find out about Higher Education courses on offer to them this week.
The annual Higher Education Fair took place at the College’s South Wigston Campus on Tuesday 8 November and saw current students find out about higher education options available once they finish their course.
A total of 37 universities from across the UK exhibited at the event, giving learners the chance to discover more about courses available, entry requirements, student life and financial support available. Among those attending were The University of Leicester, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Bedfordshire and Aberystwyth University.
Chloe Dennahey is currently studying the Level 3 Childcare course at the College and attended the fair: “It’s given me an idea of where I want to go, I want to stay at home and travel so this has given me the chance to see all of the local universities and what university life is like as well as more about placements.”
Greg Horton, Information, Advice and Guidance Adviser from South Leicestershire College said: “These events are a fantastic opportunity for those students aiming to progress to higher education once they finish their course, it really helps them to think about their next steps and consider all of the exciting options out there.
Those looking to stay closer to home had the chance to find out about Higher Education programmes at South Leicestershire College including courses in Business, Computing, Engineering, Media, Sport and Access to Higher Education programmes.
