South Leicestershire College is opening its doors this month for its first Open Event of the academic year.
The event is the ideal opportunity for students finishing school next year and are interested in starting a full-time course or Apprenticeship.
Tracey Forman, Group Director for Student Experience and Support at the College said: “These events are the ideal opportunity for those leaving school next year to discover more about the huge range of career options available to them, whether they are aiming for university level study or full-time employment.
“From Engineering and Health & Social Care, to Business, Hairdressing, Sport and Travel & Tourism, our courses cover a wide range of sectors.
“For those who aren’t sure which career path they want to take, our Guidance Team will be on hand to provide free, impartial advice. The team are great at looking at students’ interests, exploring all possible options and helping them to discover their dream career, no matter what their starting point. As well as full-time programmes, Apprenticeships are a great option for school leavers to consider – the perfect way to study towards a nationally recognised qualification whilst working as a paid employee within an organisation.
“Advice on learning and financial support including travel bursaries will also be available.
“As part of the event, visitors will have the opportunity take a look at our fantastic facilities including the gym, Hair & Beauty Salons and the college’s very own radio station Wiggle FM. Guests will also have the chance to have a go at news reporting in our studio, guess the brand with our business team plus much more.”
The event will take place on Wednesday 5 October from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. The College is located on Blaby Road, South Wigston, LE18 4PH or for those using a satnav LE18 4PN.
