After intense competition, Rhiann Iglasias of South Leicestershire College, took home the top prize of £100.
Rhiann was thrilled to have won the heat and said: “It was a little bit stressful but I stayed calm and worked through the design. I’m really happy to have won and I am looking forward to the final, although I am a bit nervous as I know it is going to be an even more technical design! I’m glad my hard work over the last two years has paid off.”
Peter McParland, Technical Applications Consultant at Johnstone’s Paints, who was one of the judges said: “The heat was one of the closest so far, the standard was high across the board and shows the real talent there is coming through into the industry.”
Rhiann will now be heading off to the National Finals at the Painting & Decorating Show at the Ricoh Arena, 1– 2 December 2015.
