South Leicestershire College (SLC) is celebrating after winning an award recognising the outstanding service it provides to customers through social media.
The Marketing Team at South Leicestershire College scooped the ‘Best Social Media Customer Service’ trophy at Zest Communications’ annual awards, which took place earlier this month.
Ellen Van Aken, Digital Communications Coordinator at the college said:
This is the second time in just over a year that SLC has been recognised for its outstanding practice in social media communications. The team won the Social Media Campaign of the Year Award in the UK Digital Entrepreneur Awards in November 2013 beating organisations such as The Lad Bible, Evans Cycles, Lucozade Powerleague and Save Britain Money Group.
Ellen added: “We know that most of our customers are using social media more than ever, which is why engaging in online conversations is so important. We are over the moon at collecting this recognition.”
Principal and Chief Executive of South Leicestershire College, Marion Plant OBE said: "As a college we pride ourselves on the exceptional and timely customer service we are able to provide through our social media channels. Having a strong social media presence enables us to engage in dialogue with customers and respond to questions promptly and effectively.
Being acknowledged for a second time in just over a year for this area of work is a tremendous achievement."
