This summer many 16-18 year olds will be making decisions about their futures. We talked to 17 year old Fahad Nazir about his Accounting Apprenticeship and why working for Cromwell Tools was the right route for him.
“I saw a lot of people going to College and University to become Accountants, but I thought of trying a different route. Apprenticeships caught my attention as you receive valuable experience, as well as the vital qualifications which employers look for.
My Accounting Apprenticeship with Cromwell Tools Ltd has allowed me to complete a Level 2 AAT qualification and to build up my accountancy experience. There are many things that I enjoy about my Apprenticeship. It is great work experience, which will help me in the future when applying for other jobs and I’m also earning money at the same time as I’m learning, which will help me to become more independent.
Both my lecturer and my Assessor from South Leicestershire College have been very supportive and were always there whenever I had any questions, making sure I didn’t have any problems at work.
In the future, I hope to stay with Cromwell Tools and complete my AAT course. Then I would like to move onto completing the ACCA qualification and become a fully qualified Accountant.
I would definitely recommend Apprenticeships to other people as I’m gaining valuable experience and qualifications at the same time. You can also apply the knowledge you learn at college in your workplace, so you become more efficient.”
Recruiting an Accounting Apprentice makes great business sense for employers. With grants of up to £3,000 per Apprentice it all adds up. So, if you are a Leicestershire based business with less than 1,000 employers follow this weblink to find out if you are eligible for these grants.
