Places of Interest
Leicester is conveniently located for travel to many major cities, including London (1 hr 15mins), Birmingham (50 minutes), Cambridge (1 hr 30 mins) and the Peak District, with its beautiful countryside and picturesque towns and villages.

Parks
There are many parks in and around Leicester, such as Abbey Park, which has a cafe, lake and sports facilities.
Victoria Park, close to the city centre, also has a variety of attractions, including sports facilities, a nature area and a pond.

Outside of Leicester, you can find Bradgate Country Park (pictured above and below) and Beacon Hill Country Park.
Museums
Leicester has many museums, such as the National Space Centre which has a futuristic Rocket Tower and the largest 360° planetarium in the UK, and New Walk Museum and Art Gallery which has many displays, including Ancient Egypt, dinosaurs and World Arts.
Historical Buildings
Leicester has many historical buildings going back to Roman Times and beyond. Within the city there is the Jewry Wall and Guild Hall.
Outside of the city in the surrounding countryside there is Belvoir Castle, The Manor House in Coalville and Bosworth Battle Field.
