Train to Gain

Train to GainTrain to Gain is a source of funding available to help businesses get the training they need to succeed. Train to Gain aims to encourage all businesses and individuals to realise the benefits that learning and skills can bring. This funding will enable many more adults to achieve a full first Level 2 qualification and to improve their basic literacy and numeracy skills. Train to Gain is important because without a skilled workforce, businesses will not be able to compete, jobs will be lost and fewer people will be able to get the jobs they want.

Who is eligible for Train to Gain funded programmes?

Call our Team on 0116 255 1086 to find out if your workforce is eligible or email engagewithus@slcollege.ac.uk.

Apprenticeships

ApprenticeshipsThe Apprenticeship programme is a work based qualification and is achieved through assessment in the work place. Apprentices may need to attend college to gain the essential knowledge required to support their qualification. Improving functional skills such as numeracy and literacy and a technical certificate are also included in the FREE Apprenticeship programme for 16-18 year olds. Apprentices aged 19+ will require their employer to make a contribution to the overall cost of the Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are an effective training tool to achieve high standards of staff competence. They are an ideal way to identify and train young people who have both the potential and the desire to build a career and by learning on-the-job, they will fit into your business right from the start.

We offer Apprenticeships in:
Accounting, Business & Administration, Care, Children's Care, Learning & Development, Construction, Customer Service, Distribution & Warehousing, IT Practitioners Level 2, IT Professional Level 3, Information Technology Qualification, and Retail.
