|Introduction||The course focuses on creative application through practice of wide ranging skills. Students will be actively encouraged to be imaginative and speculative in the shaping of their practice in context with their specialist pathway of graphic design, photography and moving image. They will develop the necessary knowledge and understanding, practical skills and competencies, critical reflection skills and contextual understanding to successfully pursue careers in the professional domain.|
A high proportion of students who have completed the course have achieved employment locally and nationally in the creative industries in the graphic design, moving image and photography sectors.
|Study Outline||Students are encouraged to take an active and imaginative approach to develop a professional portfolio of work which demonstrates a breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding related to their chosen specialism. Lectures, seminars and workshops are delivered to inform, support and equip students with the relevant knowledge and understanding for their subject. |
On completion of the course, students should be able to produce creative outcomes in response to project briefs. Students are also encouraged to develop relationships with external clients and engage in creative work experience wherever possible in order to develop their professional porfolios. Students are expected to adopt a proactive and professional approach in widening their knowledge and understanding of their specialism and the creative industry overall. This programme is validated by Coventry University.
|Entry Requirements||HND or equivalent qualification with 240 UCAS credits|
|Equipment||Students are expected to acquire equipment relevant to their specialist subject and are advised on the content in advance of the course commencement.|
|Attendance||3 days per week|
|Assessment||Students are assessed twice during the academic year and can expect to exhibit their final major project artworks to staff, students and the wider general public at the Atkins Gallery situated next to the Creative Arts campus.|
