|Introduction||BTECs are vocationally related qualifications, where learners develop knowledge|
and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work-related context.
|Study Outline||You will study 3 core units, 4 mandatory units and 5 optional units, these include The Engineered world, Investigating an Engineered Product, Introduction to Communications for Engineering, Health and Safety in Engineering, Engineering Materials, Interpreting and Using Engineering Information, Mathematics for Engineering, Machining Techniques, Electronic Circuit Design and Construction, Electrical and Mechanical Science for Engineering, Bicycle Servicing and Maintenance.|
|Entry Requirements||A minimum of 2 GCSEs grade D or above or pass at a Level 1 programme.|
GCSE Mathematics at grade D or above.
|Equipment||General stationary to include pens, paper, folders, plastic wallets and a calculator. H&S equipment will also be required to include steel toe capped boots and overalls.|
|Attendance||3 days per week for 34 weeks|
|Assessment||All the units are assessed by course assignments which meet BTEC grading criteria for Pass, Merit and Distinction|
|Progression||BTEC 90 Credit/Sub Diploma in Engineering (P)|
|Qualification||Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Diploma in Engineering|
