|Introduction||This Level 3 course will encourage the students to interface with the inner workings of a computer system. Following on from the units in level 2 this course will provide an in depth view of a computer system and its functions. This Includes networking, maintenance and data security.|
|Study Outline||The program will cover the following:|
Principles of Networking. This includes client server and peer to peer.
Installing, configuring and testing ICT Networks
Principles of an ICT System and Data Security which instructs students on how to detect defend and clean viruses to may attack your system.
Maintain ICT equipment and systems allowing students to investigate and learn how to prolong the life of a computer system.
Testing ICT systems
Unix Operating system
The curriculum also covers the installation of various pieces of software and the use of diagnostic tools to further advance the relevance of the course when advancing into the world of work.
|Entry Requirements||Entry requirements: 5 Grade C GCSE results (including Maths and English) or City and Guilds ICT Systems Support Level 1 and 2.|
Folder and plastic wallets.
|Attendance||85% attendance is required to complete the course.|
|Assessment||This course is 560 hours of study undertaking seven units. Each unit has a specific assignment that must be completed under exam conditions.|
|Progression||The progression from this course includes working in industry as a qualified technician or advance to a place at University.|
