IntroductionFoundation Learning offer courses from Entry Level 1 to Level 1.

The emphasis on all courses in this area is on preparing young people for independent living and/ or future employment. For many it is also the stepping stone to further education courses in specific areas.

Small group sizes ensure that all learners are fully supported, and individually tailored support packages can be discussed during interview.

As a team we try to develop confidence and release potential through a wide range of activities.
Study OutlineYou will study a variety of occupational workshops alongside classroom based units including personal and social development skills work preparation.

All courses include maths, English and ICT-and work experience

Some other areas you may study include:

Carpentry
Cooking
Sport
Personal & Social Development
Gardening/ horticulture
Handling money and budgeting
Entry RequirementsThere are no entry requirements.
EquipmentGeneral stationery and a memory stick is required

Please bring in the following:

Dictionary/smartphone
Pencil case with pens, pencil, highlighter etc
Note pad
A4 pad of lined paper
Ring binder folder
AttendanceAttendance is usually timetabled 3 or 4 days per week
AssessmentAssessment evidence may be produced through photographs, tutor observation, worksheets, witness statements etc which you will need to gather in a qualification portfolio.
ProgressionPossible progression onto Full time education at Level 1
QualificationCertificate or Diploma in OCN WM Living Independently or preparing for Employment.
