|Introduction|| FE choices is an Entry 3/ Level 1 qualification that offers a range of vocational tasters, in addition to maths, English and ICT. The course is an ideal chance to try lots of different areas of work and study, and also a chance to make contacts with other areas within the college. Foundation Learning: Foundation Learning offer courses from Entry Level 1 to Level 1. The emphasis on all courses in this area is on preparing young people for independent living and/ or future employment. For many it is also the stepping stone to further education courses in specific areas. Small group sizes ensure that all learners are fully supported, and individually tailored support packages can be discussed during interview. As a team we try to develop confidence and release potential through a wide range of activities. |Study Outline||You will study a variety of occupational workshops alongside classroom based units including personal and social development skills work preparation. Some other areas you may study include: Carpentry Cooking Sport Personal & Social Development Gardening/ horticulture Handling money and budgeting |
|Entry Requirements||There are no formal entry requirements.|
However, we would expect to see a completion of the literacy and numeracy assessment and successful interview showing a real commitment.
|Equipment||General stationery and a memory stick is required.|
Other equipment is dependent on vocational elements of the programme - for example safety boots may be required for work in the Construction department.

|Attendance||Attendance is usually timetabled 3 or 4 days per week. Additional attendance may be required for Work Experience as part of your Study Programme.|
This will be discussed during your interview/ taster days.
|Assessment||Assessment evidence may be produced through annotated photographs, tutor observation, worksheets, witness statements etc which you will need to gather in a qualification portfolio.|
|Progression||Progression onto Full time education at Level 1 or 2.|
