IntroductionOn the course you will receive an introduction to the Travel and Tourism industry at a national and international level. The BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Travel and Tourism gives you a great start in your career whether you want to go onto higher qualifications or get a job straight away.

You will gain experience of working with other people, problem solving and meeting deadlines, all of which are essential for a successful career in tourism.
Study OutlineThis full-time course is a study programme made up of the following:

• BTEC Diploma in Travel and Tourism
• Tutorials: Where you will receive one to one weekly coaching and support
• Functional Skills/GCSE English (if applicable)
• Functional Skills/GCSE Maths (if applicable)
• Enrichment activities and trips
• Employability workshops and activities

In addition you will learn to use information technology and develop a deep understanding of customer service and the skills required to work in this fast paced industry.

Exciting subjects including Exploring Airports and Airlines and Overseas Holiday Operations can help to give you a significant edge for highly sought after job positions in the industry.

• Exploring Marketing in Travel and Tourism
• European holiday Destinations
• UK Visitor Attractions
• Preparing for Employment in Travel and Tourism

Entry RequirementsYou will require one of the following:

• 4 x GCSE at Grade C/4 or above
• Foundation GNVQ or BTEC Introductory Diploma at Merit Level and Functional Skills at Level 2

Learners with vocational experience or alternative qualifications will be considered.

AssessmentYou will study a range of modules or units and each one will be assessed using a variety of methods including; taking part in role plays, creating promotional material including leaflets and posters, writing newspaper articles, taking part in interviews, writing reports and delivering presentations. You will learn to work independently as well as part of a team.
ProgressionThis sector is expected to grow significantly over the next couple of years.
