IntroductionThe world of Make Up is a diverse one with different specialisms and pathways. Our level 3 course enables learners to progress on from our level 2 make up programme, other related programmes and industry experienced individuals.

These courses will be a stepping stone into the industry or higher education.

Work experience and competition opportunities are an integral part of the courses.
Study OutlineThere are a number of theoretical units including; Health and Safety, Client Care and Anatomy and Physiology.
The practical units include:
Photographic Make Up.
High definition Airbrush Make Up and Airbrush techniques.
Style and fit postiche and hair pieces.
Creative hair design.
Camouflage make up for the coverage of skin irregularities
Create, cast, fit and colour prosthetics pieces and bald caps.
Accident and injury techniques and characterisation make up for theatre and media.
Entry RequirementsGCSE English and Mathematics grade C or above.
A proven artistic ability
Previous level 2 course in Make up, Beauty, Hair or other related subject.
Applicants with prior industry experience will be considered for direct level 3 training.
EquipmentYou will be required to purchase a number of different kits appropriate to your chosen pathway, with these we will tailor what you have to buy due to what you have collected from previous courses or industry. This will be discussed at interview.
All of our kits have been professionally sourced and are competitively priced.

Cosmetic and photographic make up
Make Up brushes and brush belt
Special effects and prosthetics
Consumables

A make up artistry uniform is also a requirement
Attendance1 year full time. Work experience opportunities may be outside of college hours and are expected in addition to core programme of study.
AssessmentAll assessments are continual and ongoing and a service portfolio of evidence must be produced by you to demonstrate your skills and underpinning knowledge.
There will be an externally set multiple choice exam at the end of each unit.
ProgressionThe qualifications studied will offer opportunity to work within a range of sectors which may include TV, film and theatre work as a freelance make up artist and also working within the retail and cosmetic industries. Progression into higher education is also an option to do either a HND or degree.
Some higher education establishments may require additional entry requirements.
