|Introduction||The level 2 programme is designed to deliver and perfect the core and basic skills required to be a make up artist, an integral part of that being hairdressing techniques required for industry. Our level 2 programme enables learners to prepare and progress onto our level 3 make up programme, with different pathways which cater for the tailored passions of your chosen career journey.|
These courses will be a stepping stone into the industry or higher education.
Work experience and competition opportunities are an integral part of the study programmes.
|Study Outline||Your study programme will expect you to undertake a GCSE in Mathematics if not achieved previously. |
The core element of your main programme will include essential hairdressing skills to work within the industry. These skills will be linked and embedded to work within the make up units to create evidence and images. The units are; face painting, body painting, basic and photographic make up application and nail art.
Health and safety and client care will be embedded in all of the above units.
|Entry Requirements||GCSE English, Art and one other subject grade C or above. If art has not been taken as a GCSE another subject will be accepted as long as artistic ability can be proven. |
Applicant with prior industry experience will be considered.
|Equipment||You will be required to purchase a number of different kits appropriate to your course. This will be discussed at interview. |
All of our kits have been professionally sourced and are competitively priced.
Examples to be included:
Cosmetic and photographic make up
Make up brushes
Face and body painting paints
A make up artistry uniform is also a requirement.
|Attendance||1 year full time. Work experience opportunities may be outside of college hours and are expected in addition to core programme of study.|
|Assessment||All assessments are continual and ongoing and a service portfolio of evidence must be produced by you to demonstrate your skills and underpinning knowledge.|
The completion of each unit will have an externally set multiple choice exam.
|Progression||Progression into further education onto our level 3 programme which we have two routes tailored to your chosen career journey.|
