|Introduction||CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK L2) as an introduction to the skills of counselling. Required to be able to progress onto Level 3 Counselling Studies. |
This course is week commencing 17th September 2018, on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning from 10am until 1pm.
|Study Outline||There are 7 mandatory units to complete via a CPCAB candidate guide for learners. A variety of evidence is required including classroom observations, assignments and written reflective journals. An external assesment after two-thirds of the course is based around identifying counselling skills within a DVD. |
|Entry Requirements||Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) essential |
|Equipment||You will require stationery, a portfolio folder, and text books|
|Attendance||1 year part time from 10am - 1pm once a week. CPCAB require a minimum of 80% attendance in order to pass the qualification. |
|Assessment||External assessment is a 2 hour DVD under exam conditions. Internal assessment is a portfolio of evidence across 7 units, including observation of counselling practice. |
|Progression||If successful, progression onto CST-L3 then further progression on TC-L4 to qualify students as counsellors within an agency setting. This L2 qualification is seen as the first year of a 4 year programme to qualify as a practitioner. |
