IntroductionLearners will develop the skills and knowledge to be able to complete first and second fix carpentry.
Study OutlineOn this programme, learners will study roofing, door hanging, safe use of machines, kitchen fitting, cutting and fitting stairs
Entry RequirementsEntry requirements are ideally GCSE Grade D or above and through initial diagnostic assessment. Learners will also have to attend an interview with a member of the construction team.
EquipmentLearners will have to provide their own stationery equipment and recommended books, and safety equipment.
AttendanceOne year, three full days per week. You must attend all elements of the study programme including English & Maths Functional Skills, tutorials and work experience, the expectation is 95%.
AssessmentAssessment is via completion of coursework and portfolio, practical assessments, a practical phase test and an end of year course exam.
ProgressionSuccessful completion of the programme will lead onto Diploma Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery.
