IntroductionLearners who attend this course will gain a full insight into the construction industry and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve an entry Level qualification in multi-skills
Study OutlineOn the course you will study: Health, Safety and welfare that will cover your own and employers responsibilities and the Principles of building construction,basic hand skills to produce timber joint and frame, brickwork and blockwork projects, floor and wall tiling and painting and decorating. As part of this study programme students are also required to attend Maths and English Functional Skills lessons and participate in weekly tutorials.
Entry RequirementsLearners will have to attend an interview with a member of the construction team. To successfully achieve the Qualification a minimum attendance of 90% is expected, in addition all personal PPE, writing paper, drawing equipment be brought to all sessions.
EquipmentLearners will have to provide their own stationery equipment including writing paper, pens, HB and 2H pencils, Personal Protective equipment to include high-Vis vest, safety boots/shoes and recommended textbooks.
AttendanceOne year study programme, 3 days a week. You must attend all elements of the study programme including English & Maths, tutorials and work experience, the expectation is 95%.
AssessmentAssessment is via completion of coursework and portfolio, practical assessments, practical phase test and end of unit multiple choice exam.
ProgressionSuccessful completion of the course will lead onto the Diploma Level 1 multi skills.
