|Introduction||This course will enable learners to develop their skills and knowledge to be able to carry out advanced site carpentry operations.|
|Study Outline||The study proramme is designed for students who work or want to work as a site carpenter in the construction sector. It allows students to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in site carpentry.|
The course covers the following work skills ad job knowledge: carry out advanced 1st fix flooring, roofing and stairs. Carry out 2nd fix double doors and mouldings. Set up and operate fixed and transportable machinery, the Principles of Organising, Planning and Pricing Construction Work. Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction.
|Entry Requirements||Successful completion of Site Carpentry Level 2. Ideally GCSE at Grade D or above and through initial diagnostic assessment. Learners will also have to attend an interview with a member of the construction team.|
|Equipment||Learners will have to provide their own stationery equipment and safety boots.|
|Attendance||One year, three full days a week. You must attend all elements of the study programme including English & Maths, tutorials and work experience, the expectation is 95%.|
|Assessment||Assessment is via completion of course week and portfolio and awarding body set examinations.|
|Progression||NNQ Level 2/3 Site Carpentry if you are working in the industry and meeting the set criteria.|
