Introduction Do you want to work with children and play an important part in their early years and development? This Apprenticeship will prepare you to support others within a range of a Child care provisions.
The Level 3 Diploma in Children's Learning and Development (Early Years Educator)(QCF) qualification consists of 9 mandatory units which are as follows:-
Understand Children's Early Years Education and Development.
Implementing Early Years Foundation Stage
Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Early Years Settings
Plan and Provide Effective Teaching and Leaning in Early Years Setting
Promote the Health, Safety and Well-being of Children in Early Years Setting
Child Protection and Safeguarding
Partnership Working in Early Years
With a choice of approximately four options units to obtain a minimum credit value of 64 credits to achieve this overall qualification.
Study OutlineFramework requirements for this Advanced apprenticeship comprise of the following –
Pearson’s Edexcel Level 3 Diploma in Children's Learning and Development(Early Years Educator)
Pearson’s Btec Level 2 Understanding Employment responsibilities and rights in Children and Young People's Settings (ERR)
Level 2 OCR Functional skills in Information and Communications Technology
Entry RequirementsFormal entry requirements for the Level 3 Diploma in Children's Learning and Development(Early Years Educator) are that English and Math's have already been achieved at a GCSE A-C grade, and that ICT Initial assessment expectations are at least at Level 1 to be taken on to this study programme.
EquipmentThe equipment required to complete the Apprenticeship would be outlined by the employer and assessor dependent on the provision undertaking the qualification within.
AttendanceAn assessor would be allocated to undertake the varying framework components within the work place and would generally visit at least once a month.
Assessment As the Level 3 Diploma in Children's Learning and Development (Early Years Educator) requires confirmation of occupational competency. The learner will be allocated an assessor where they will be observed in the work place undertaking planned tasks. Without this aspect the learner would not achieve the qualification as competency cannot be demonstrated. A portfolio of evidence for this part of the qualification would also be undertaken where assignments would be set under the direction of the assessor.
Understanding Employment responsibilities and rights in Children and Young People's Settings this component would be delivered through a workbook.
The ICT aspects of the functional skill component will be delivered within the workplace provision through supportive platforms and varying resources to support the individuals learning style,which will final lead to an overall exam to complete this qualification.
ProgressionLearners that have achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Children's learning and Development (Early Years Educator) could progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children's Services dependant on job role.
QualificationUpon successful completion of the course you will achieve the overall Apprenticeship Framework for Level 3 Diploma in Children's Learning and Development (Early Years Educator) which is clarified in the study outline.
