|Introduction||The level 2 in food safety is ideal for all those requiring food hygiene training for industry. Reflecting sector-specific needs, these food safety qualifications are required to address new National Occupational Standards. They are designed for anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled.|
This course is delivered on Nuneaton site but can be delivered on an Industry site if requested.
|Study Outline||The qualifications cover the following topics: Legislation; Food safety and hygiene hazards; Temperature control; Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding; Cooking, hot holding and reheating; Food handling; Principles of safe food storage; Cleaning; Food premises and equipment.|
|Entry Requirements||There are no entry requirements.|
|Equipment||No equipment required, all course material will be provided for you. Photographic ID will be required to sit exam. This can be a Passport, Driving License, EU card or Proof of age card.|
|Assessment||Assessment is a multiple choice examination.|
|Progression||Attend a level 3 Award in Supervising food safety course or Level 2 award in HACCP|
