IntroductionThis is a combined two year AAT Accounting course and a BTEC Business course. No prior accounting knowledge is required. Year one will provide you with the foundations to progress onto year two to successfully complete the full qualification.
Study OutlineYear 1 Foundation Certificate in Accounting and the Extended Certificate in Business
In this year you will study an accounting qualification which will prepare you for junior and entry-level accounting roles. It delivers a solid foundation in finance administration. All studied units will be accessed via external exams set by AAT.
In Business we will study exploring business, business and personal finance, marketing and work experience units. These subject areas will be assessed by two externally examined units (marketing and finance) and assignment based work.
During this year you will be expected to complete 40 hours of work experience to support your AAT studies.
Year 2 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and the Extended Diploma in Business
In the second year we will build upon the basic accounting and business knowledge that you acquired in year one.
Entry RequirementsYou will require 5 GCSE@S at grade 4/C or above and they must include Maths and English Language.
EquipmentPens, paper, calculator and a ruler
Attendance3/4 days per week
AssessmentThe AAT courses are both examined externally by AAT.
The BTEC qualification is a mixture of externally assessed examined units and assignments.
ProgressionFollowing completion of the Advanced Diploma Level 3, you will then have the opportunity to study the AAT program at Professional Diploma Level 4, apply for an apprenticeship or to apply to University.
