IntroductionAn introduction to Accountancy for any body who has not studied the subject in the past and who requires a no nonsense approach. We will assume that you have no prior knowledge and start from founding principles . The course will then give you the opportunity to progress rapidly on to our Advanced Diploma Level 3 program and complete the two courses within the one academic year.
Study OutlineThe Foundation Certificate course involves five modules which provide an introduction to the accounting function:
-Bookkeeping Transactions
-Bookkeeping Controls
-Using Accounting Software
-Elements of Costing
-Work Effectively in Finance
If you successfully complete these by Christmas you may then progress onto our Advanced Diploma Level 3 Program which will run for the remainder of the academic year and include modules in :
-Advanced Bookkeeping
-Final Accounts Preparation
-Management Accounting
-Indirect Tax ( VAT )
-Ethics for Accountants
-Spreadsheets
Entry RequirementsThe Foundation Certificate is the starting point for the program and is an open access course; however you should ideally have a minimum of GCSE Grade C in maths and English or equivalent
EquipmentPens, paper, calculator and a ruler
Attendance3 days per week
AssessmentThe course involves 5 areas of study at Foundation Certificate Level 2 which are all examined through the use of computerised assessments. There are no portfolios or assignments to complete and most assessments will give you an instant result and the opportunity to resit where necessary

The same arrangements then apply at Advanced Diploma Level 3 where a further 5 computerised assessments complete the picture
ProgressionFollowing completion of the Advanced Diploma Level 3, you will then have the opportunity to study the AAT program at Professional Diploma Level 4
