|Introduction||This one year course is equivalent to studying one and a half A Level's. |
The Study Programme is made up of: a Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Business; a Tutorial Programme; English and maths at GCSE, if you have not achieved it already; you will also take part in employability and enrichment activities; in addition to all of this you will receive 1:1 support from a Progress Coach to monitor progress throughout the academic year.
|Study Outline||You will study a range of business topics including: Marketing, Human Resource Management, The Business Environment, Business Ethics, and Business Accounting. You will learn about how businesses work and the details about how they record the accounts and market themselves in a modern and competitive business environment.|
|Entry Requirements||Five GCSEs at grade C equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics (preferable). |
If you don't have the full expected entry qualifications, please come and talk to us to discuss other options that may be available to you within the business offer. It may be that you have other suitable qualifications.
|Equipment||Study materials including, notebook, a recommended text book, pens and a USB stick.|
|Attendance||100% attendance is desired on all aspects of this Study Programme. |
You can expect to attend college three days per week.
|Assessment||You will be assessed through the completion of controlled assessments, business reports, case study analysis, group activities and presentations. Your work will be graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.|
|Progression||Many students completing the 90 Credit Diploma progress on to the Extended Diploma which is in effect the second year of the programme. Some who choose not to continue on to the second year enter an apprenticeship opportunity, go directly into employment or enter another course of study. |
There are a multitude of paths to take, including: Accountancy, Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Management and Administration. Some use their business knowledge and skills to set up their own business.
