IntroductionComputing is an integral part of everyday life. With technology developing at a faster rate than ever before, this is an ever evolving industry with a huge range of career options. This Apprenticeship includes a balance of content in technical, business and interpersonal areas designed to ensure you have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s IT & Telecoms job roles.
Study OutlineAs part of this Apprenticeship you'll cover the Level 4 OCR Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals and the Level 4 OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma in IT. Example units include: • Health and safety in ICT • Develop own effectiveness and professionalism Example optional units: • Cisco CCNP route • Data structures and algorithms • Technical fault diagnosis • Working with ICT hardware and equipment
Entry RequirementsYou will need to have: A Levels (or equivalent) including the Level 3 IT Diploma, an International Baccalaureate or a relevant Level 3 Technical Certificate; or an Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3).

AttendanceThe Apprenticeship is attained in the workplace and takes 2 years to complete.
AssessmentAssessment will be in the workplace. The Diploma qualification is composed of a number of units of competence; you will achieve these with Pass grade only. The Cambridge Technical Diploma also consists of a number of units; these units can be graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.
ProgressionPotential job roles include: IT Project Manager, Analyst Developer, IT Service Manager, IT Security Analyst, Network/Telecoms Manager.
