IntroductionThis course is for those currently in a full teaching role in post-compulsory education. (Learners over 14 years of age). This
includes Further Education colleges, sixth form centres, adult education, community learning and other training and educational settings outside of the educational sector.

You must be in a full teaching role to successfully complete this course.

Entry RequirementsYou must hold a PTLLS, AET or CET to qualify for course entry.

You must also hold a Subject specific qualification at Level 3 or above, Literacy at level 2 and Numeracy at Level 1 (Level 2 to be achieved by the end of the
programme), a DBS (formerly CRB) check and at least 100 hours of
class contact.

A mentor is required for this programme, who is someone who will support you through your studies and has completed a full teaching qualification as well as a minimum of a level 3 subject s
EquipmentYou will need lever arch files, plastic wallets and subject dividers
plus labels.
AttendanceThis course will run on a Friday from 09.30 - 14.00 for 34 weeks of the academic year.

100% attendance is encouraged.
AssessmentAssessment is via a combination of assignments and a minimum
of eight teaching practice observations, over the 2 years.
ProgressionSuccessful completion of the Diploma can lead to the Foundation
Degree in PCET, Masters Degree in PCET and Qualified Teacher
Status -Learning and Skills (QTLS).

Achieving QTLS status qualifies you to teach in schools to learners aged 14-16 as well as 16+.
