|Introduction||The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply off the Diploma in Procurement and Supply, which is a valuable management tool for those moving into junior and middle management procurement roles or those supervising the procurement function. It focusses on organisational procedures and processes including negotiation, planning, risk management and data analysis.|
Joining a CIPS qualification programme means you will join the largest Institute in the world for those working in procurement and supply.
The qualification is made up of 5 modules that can be studied in any order:
D1 Contexts of procurement and supply
D2 Business needs in procurement and supply
D3 Sourcing in procurement and supply
D4 Negotiating and contracting in procurement and supply
D5 Managing contracts and relationships in procurement and supply
|Study Outline||Managing contracts and relationships in procurement and supply: on completion of this unit, candidates will be able to apply methods to improve supplier performance, recognising the need for a structured approach when dealing with performance and relationship issues. The unit concentrates on approaches to contract and supplier relationship management involving stakeholders in these processes. Personnel involved in creating contracts and relationships with external organisations need to ensure outcomes that achieve organisational requirements including costs, quality, risk management and timing.|
This course is on a Monday evening from 18:30 - 21:30.
You will learn in a classroom environment where you will not only be taught by highly experienced lecturers you will also have the opportunity to meet and work with new people in similar sectors to your own.
|Entry Requirements||You will require one of the following*: |
A minimum of at least two A-levels (or international equivalent)
A CIPS Advanced Certificate qualification.
Alternatively you need a minimum of two years' experience in a business environment.
*Please note that this is at the request of the awarding body.
|Equipment||You will need stationary and access to a computer for research.|
You will be provided with a course text and the CIPS study material.
You will need to register yourself as a member with CIPS at the start of the programme: http://www.cips.org/en-gb/membership/joinonline/
You will also need to pay for the assessment fees: https://cips.org/qualifications/assessments/assessment-fees/
|Attendance||You are required to attend 95% of your sessions|
|Assessment||All units are assessed via an examination, CIPS examinations for qualifications units are hand written and paper-based.|
South Leicestershire College is an approved examination centre for CIPS so you can sit your exam at the college.

|Progression||To progress onto the other modules.|
Once all 5 units have been achieved you will achieve the Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply, you can then progress to the Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
