Leicestershire School Leavers
Last updated: Wednesday 6th April 2016
From September 2013 the education leaving age rose to 17 and from 2015 it will rise again, to 18. This does not necessarily mean staying in school; as a school leaver you have a choice about how you continue in education or training post-16, which could be through:
- Full-time study in a school, college or with a training provider
- An apprenticeship
- Full-time work or volunteering combined with part-time education or training
In this section we want you to understand the variety of options available to you as a school leaver, helping you to choose the right pathway. Offering a wide variety of full-time courses, Apprenticeships and part-time training courses South Leicestershire College should be your first choice for education.
