South Leicestershire College (SLC)
"After finishing college, I left with 3 A Levels in Sport, Business and History with grades B, C, C. After the rise in tuition fees, I felt university wasn’t for me and began to consider other options.
After studying Business, Marketing had became an interest of mine and I knew it was a field of work that I wanted to be in. I came across the vacancy at SLC to work in the Marketing department and have never looked back.
Apprenticeships are great as you gain real work experience, valuable qualifcations and a wage. Through an Apprenticeship you create a solid foundation for you to build a career on.
I would recommend everybody to consider an Apprenticeship. Many people think University or a full time job is their only option, but it’s not.
The value of Apprenticeships is underestimated, the combination of working and gaining qualifications is second to none."
Where are they now?
Sam is now working as a Marketing Assistant for 45 West Distillers, a producer of premium white spirits.
