About Us

South Leicestershire College, formerly Wigston College, is a general college of Further Education which opened in 1970. Situated on the southern outskirts of Leicester, we attract learners from across the county. The college particularly serves the south of the city and South Leicestershire, including the Harborough District.

'Our mission is to provide excellent and innovative vocational learning and so improve the life chances, employability and economic prosperity of our learners.'

We offer a diverse vocational curriculum which meets the needs of both employers and local communities.

We are proud to boast our Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status in Supervisory Management, and an investment of £500,000 has resulted in the Martin Johnson Centre for Leadership and Management. This Centre houses the latest advances in learning technology and high quality teaching, providing practical and flexible learning opportunities for the next generation of business professionals.
